Detroit

I joined Officer David for a ride along in his police car on night shift. The best call was because of some drunk dude who passed out at the traffic lights and when a few law enforcers tried to wake him up he tried to take off. Now the police had parked cars both in front and behind him in case he were to roll forward and into traffic when woken up as he had his car in drive. So anyway, he crashed into the car in front of him at first attempt to escape and nearly drove over the cop car on his second attempt. His mother's SUV lifted that high off the ground! She'll be delighted to hear the news and I'm sure she's also aware it was his second drunk driving offence.
But that's not the only thing I did in Detroit, I also visited the Henry Ford museum and Greenfield village where life in the old days is reenacted with people in costumes and with 1920s cars driving around, the first cars built on construction lines.
One evening I went to a softball game, not to watch but to play! I joined the 'enforcers' in a league game and I actually never missed a bat and I even batted one of our players home. I batted myself to base one a couple of times and once, when on third base just before I could bring a point home our third batter went out and the inning was over. So close.
