Crater Lake

I decided to drive to Crater Lake National Park where there were about 7 feet of snow! Crater Lake is amazing! Basically it was once a volcanic mountain that erupted and spilled out so much magma that there was too little left inside to support the top and it all caved in.
That was about 77,000 years ago and the bang is supposed to have taken hours. Anyway, what's left of the outskirts of the former mountain has since filled with water from rain and snow and it's supposed to be the cleanest lake in the states. No streams flow in and nothing flows out, so they tell me.
