Los Angeles

Downtown LA may not be very pretty but there's still Hollywood, Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills with Rodeo Drive. I of course got my picture with the Hollywood sign and saw all the stars on the paths but I also got to see a US comedy show filmed. A group of us got tickets for 'The Showbiz Show with David Spade'. It's set up like a news program and was quite funny but the funniest part was when they recorded a variety of fake laughs at the end to later fit into the final edition of the show. I was surprised how easily he got everyone to laugh on demand.
Venice Beach was like in the old movies with people cycling along the beach promenade on those 80's style bikes. There were also a lot of cool shops, cafes and performing artists there.
The beach leads to Santa Monica Pier which looked somewhat familiar, probably some film, and then of course there was Santa Monica Boulevard.
Los Angeles doesn't seam as dangerous as people say but there sure are some weirdos around. Nearly forgot to mention, bought a Ford Aerostar XL van to get around, 3L V6 and it's still cheaper to run than my little Renault back home.
God bless America!
