Sydney is the gayest place on the planet and very much in your face, gay bars and clubs and adult shops make up a large part of the city but when steering clear of all that it can be quite calm, relaxing and very enjoyable. One of my very own favorite would have to the botanical gardens, sorry the royal botanical gardens with quite an interesting wildlife where you can find yourself pretty much surrounded by bats in the evening. They are in fact very interesting creatures and very enjoyable to observe. In another part of the gardens the were a bunch of white birds, no idea what they're called, anyway they screeched really loud and scared people by flying

straight at them. There are also some fantastic beaches around like the famous Bondi Beach and shopping would be great if I had the space.

Christmas at the beach was an interesting experience and honestly, it was the first time I ever wore a Santa hat at any beach. Burgers and kangaroo for Christmas dinner was also a first timer. Another strange thing was celebrating Christmas with a bunch of other backpackers I'd only known a few days instead of the very familiar faces of all the family members. But it was a great Christmas all the same.

The new years eve show was pretty impressive with fireworks going off from 6 places in the river, some of the tallest buildings and of course harbour bridge. It was an amazing show and a cracking start to the new year.
