Krabi

A very relaxed beach resort in the south of Thailand where I spent time chilling at the beach with some monkeys. Well, they were at the far end of the beach doing their own thing, swinging around and fighting each other for food while I lay in the sun wondering whether the Indian Sea was too warm to go into or not.

But I did go down to see the monkeys a few times where one of the funniest things happened. A enormous man appeared on the beach with a bag of bananas to feed the little fellows and have his picture taken with them. Before he got there a monkey ran over to him, jumped up at his bag, ripped it open, grabbed a banana and ran off. Now for the best bit; the massive guy sat on a rock and held out a banana when he suddenly lost his balance and tipped backwards in what seemed like slow motion while letting off some strange cry. When he finally lost his battle against gravity and and his giant back touched the ground he then slowly tilted over to the side in another slow motion movement accompanied by another cry. I really felt bad for the poor guy until I saw that his wife wasn't bothered to rush over and help him either.

One evening then I went to see Muay Thai at the Ao-Nang Krabi Stadium, 9 fights with quite a few knockouts. The fighters were of all ages, some of them just little kids, absolutely crazy!
