Kanchanaburi

Went on an amazing day trip to Kanchanaburi where we were first brought to the war cemetery and war museum which were all about the bridge over the river Kwai, then we got taken to lunch in a restaurant which was floating on a river. After lunch we floated down the river on rafts and where we arrived there were elephants waiting for us and little kids took us on an elephant trek. Each sat on their elephant's head and steered it by shouting commands and kicking it's ears. It wasn't long till the boy asked me if I wanted to sit on the elephants head which I did of course but not much happened when I gave the elephant's ears a little kick. We even got to feed the big guys.

The next stop was at a great waterfall and the final stop was the highlight, the tiger temple! That's where monks take care of those tigers unable to survive alone because of something like a hearing problem or so. Anyway, the tigers were in a canyon and we were allowed in there to pet them! The bare idea of petting a tiger is just crazy and quite unreal and the sound of a tigers roar is that bit more impressive when your that close to it.
