Luang Prabang
Sabaydee from Laos again, this time from Luang Prabang. Went to see a whole load of temples today, one was on the top of a little mountain in the middle of town from where there was this great view:
As I was enjoying the view a plain flew right by the temple and landed at the one runway airport just across the river Mekong. Inside the temple there were locals praying to Buddha and bringing him offerings. On the way down there were loads of Buddhas and we even got to see Buddha's footprint which was about the size of a bath. He must have been some big lad.
Leaving here tomorrow towards Vietnam, Joel will be heading north and into China. As we're both heading for Shanghai, just on different routs, and each of us needs to get there around the same time, we agreed to meet up there again. For now I've made new travel arrangements with a couple I had met on the tube ride in Vang Vieng and bumped into again here in Luang Prabang, he's German (Recklinghausen) and she's Irish (Meath).
