Beijing and The Great Wall
The City is every bit like you'd expect a capital to be; big wide roads,
large buildings that are wide rather than high,
soldiers everywhere, marching proudly or standing still with very serious expressions on their mostly very young faces.
Came up to Beijing with Aidan and and his friend Marc from uni who he went to Shanghai with.
Together we watched the change of guards and taking down of the flag at Tienanmen square,
visited the Forbidden City
and made a trip to The Great Wall Of China.
What I hadn't known is that some parts of the wall are completely overgrown so on our walk along it we actually came to a sort of end.
The scenery around the wall is also quite spectacular with mountains everywhere you look.
