35 hour train ride across China

Nee how, arrived in Shanghai early yesterday morning after a 35 hour train trip. Rubbing shoulders with the good old Chinese turned out to be a very interesting and also very pleasant experience. When I got on the train everyone starred at me and when I sat down they were still staring and kept it up for quite a while. They tried to talk to me, up to 20 of them at a time, but knew no English and cause I couldn't understand, this one guy thought it would be a good idea to write it out for me, not realizing that I can't read signs. They also kept offering me food and didn't give me the option of saying no. Once while reading my book, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, pretty good so thanks Joel, an apple appeared between the pages and the lad that put it there ran off. When I left the train they were all waving and some of them did in fact know the word bye.
