Vientiane
Greetings from Vientiane, the capital of Laos!
This must be the smallest capital of the world! I'd say in most countries it wouldn't even qualify as a town, it's more like a village and a very empty one as well. Most of the roads aren't even real roads but that can be said for most of this country. You can pay with Dollars, the Thai currency Baht, or with the Laos currency Kip. 1 dollar is about 10 000 Kip and that's about how much you pay for a meal here. Did the sights with Joel from New Zealand who was on the same bus from Bangkok to Laos as me and has similar travel plans to mine. Went to some Buddhist temples today of which there are many here and you see a lot of Buddhist monks around just walking the streets like everyone else. Should be heading up north soon.
