First stop Bangkok!!

Hey there everyone, greetings from Bangkok! Got here yesterday late afternoon local time and took a bus to Khao San Road and looked for accommodation which I found for about 3 euro a night. Had a look around the area for a while and ended up going to the night market with a load of Israelis. One Israeli guy told me he was in Bangkok so he wouldn't have to go to war!

Today, my second day, I took a ride with a tuktuk, which is a kind of motorbike with two wheels at the back. Now I know people say you shouldn't go on them and I've been advised not to go on them myself by many people but the driver took me all around Bangkok for a good part of the day, dropped me of at interesting places like "the lying Buddha" and waited there for me until I was ready to go on. At the end he charged me 15 Baht, about 30 cent. A price we agreed before I got in, only that I had understood at the time that it was just for the first trip. Somewhere along the way we passed a dead dog on the road that had been ripped open and it's guts were lying next to it. Not the nicest sight.

Just a while ago I was at a food market where I saw about 2 non-Thai people in over an hour. That was a little odd, just like all the smells and sights there. On some chunks of pork you could still recognise the pigs snout and the chickens still had their feet and guts. Tried some things to eat there, not always knowing what it was, and payed a lot less for it the in the tourist areas.
